This is a weekend of remembering! A weekend first of all to thank God for the victory we have over sin and death because Jesus died that terrible agonising death on the Cross for you and me! Then the amazing news we celebrate tomorrow, Sunday -

<span style="background-color: #f9cb9c; color: #b45f06; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">"HE IS RISEN!"

<span style="background-color: #f9cb9c; color: #b45f06; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">Hallelujah! Jesus is alive!

Below I have copied a piece from my daughter, Jo's, website email today. If you would like to look at her MumsKidsJesus website, here is the link: http://mumskidsjesus.com/

From Joanna Chee:

There's a wonderful phrase circling the virtual
globe this Easter:

...churches are empty - but
so is the tomb

It comes from a poem by Kristi Bothur:
How The Virus Stole Easter (with a nod to Dr. Seuss)

It's an amazing poem. Physical churches may be
empty, and Easter may look very different this year, but the truth remains: the
tomb is empty, Jesus is alive, and He offers LIFE to all!

...Jesus is Victor over
death, doom and gloom

Life is so so different for us all, isn't it. I have not wrtten a post for a while, as I have concentrated more on writing to individual friends and keeping up with family.This is a time I believe for deepening our relationships, and, with the Holy Spirit's help, these can become more beautiful and this will always be a time to remember in the future - a time when we were indeed isolated from human fellowship physically, but where our love for Jesus grew, our intimacy with Him became something more special and our friendships and family became more precious then ever!

God bless you this Resurrection Sunday! Wherever you are and whoever you connect with for worship and hearing the Word online, may you have that very real knowledge that God has not forsaken you. He has not forsaken our world! Jesus has triumphed over evil! His be the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory forever and ever! Amen!
I have been practising that this weekend, as it is the only place to come and find God's incredible peace and know that He loves me and is keeping me through all the turmoil we are living through in these days. The second step from that passage in 1 Peter 5, is to cast all our cares, worries, concerns and anxieties on Jesus! This means that childlike trust and reliance on Him and His love and care. Oh yes - there is no other place to be, but at Father's feet and pouring our heart out before Him. He wants us to come:
We are not warring against the conditions in this world, or against poverty and illness, including the Covid-19 virus and its effects. We are in a battle against principalities and powers of darkness. The good news is that Jesus has already triumphed by dying on the Cross for you and me, and rising again, ALIVE for evermore, interceding for us at the right hand of the Father. Take a few minutes today and read Ephesans 1:19-23. Our risen Christ is above every principality and power! Hallelujah! Now that is the confirmation that we need to hear this message and take it into our hearts. Today, with the world around us totally upside down, no churches in the UK and other countries able to meet, even in homes, we need to take steps to bow before our God. To seek His face like never before. He is there for us, and cares about every single aspect of our daily lives. I leave you with the passage below to read and meditate on. And then tomorrow the second step.

Jesus stills the fierce storms raging around us in these days! Let's come to Him over and over in our day and in the night when we wake. Let us bring to Him our concerns for ourselves, our own families and for our loved ones and communities. Let us pray for wisdom for a beleagured government.
<span style="color: #0c343d; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #0c343d; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Have a look at these verses in Psalm 56 from the Passion translation:
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="background-color: #d0e0e3; color: #45818e; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">"But in the day that I am afraid, I lay all my fears before You and trust You with all my heart. What harm could man bring to me? With God on my side I will not be afraid of what comes. The roaring praises of God fill my heart, and I will always triumph as I trust His promises.
<span style="background-color: #d0e0e3; color: #45818e; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">.............
<span style="background-color: #d0e0e3; color: #45818e; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I trust in the LORD. And I praise Him! I trust in the Word of God. And I praise Him! What harm could man do unto me? With God on my side I will not be afraid of what comes. My heart overflows with praise to God and for His promises. I will always trust in Him.
<span style="background-color: #d0e0e3; color: #45818e; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">So I am thanking You with all my heart ..... "
<span style="background-color: #d0e0e3; color: #45818e; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Ps 56:3-4, 10-12.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #0c343d; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Today, let it be praise to Jesus that is the roar in your heart - let praise replace the roar of the terrors of the pandemic and all its consequences.
<span style="color: #0c343d; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #0c343d; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Trusting our Father goes hand in hand with thanksgiving and praise for Who He is and that He is faithful and has promised to care for us and protect us and keep us safe!

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">Tomorrow I will be sharing a little about the weapons of our warfare and the armour of God. It could be terrifyng for so many. I can feel fear coming on board while I listen to the predictions of the escalation of the virus around the world. I am over 70, plus I have a mild lung condition - asthma, which was once serious, but, thanks to the Lord, I hardly notice it now and have minimal doses of inhaler. BUT it sure is scary - and I feel that tightening in my lungs. I am being honest, because I know many people are fearful and we cannot brush this under the carpet!
<span style="color: #0c343d; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #0c343d; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">BUT we have an ANSWER!
<span style="color: #0c343d; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #0c343d; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">And the ANSWER is JESUS! The same Jesus Who slept in the boat in the midst of a storm - so bad that the disciples thought they were going to drown! (Mark 4:35-41) Jesus said at the outset to that trip, " Let us go over to the other side!". And when Jesus speaks, it happens, so He wasn't worried about the tempest! But his disciples were very afraid. Jesus is never asleep or deaf to our cries, and He will see us through and bring about His full purpose for our lives. Wow, that brings comfort and strength!
<span style="color: #0c343d; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #0c343d; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">As I have spent time with the Lord today, I have felt there are 2 main things we must do in this season:
<span style="color: #0c343d; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">1. Make sure we connect with God BEFORE we listen to any news in the morning. Try to read some of the Word, or speak out some scripture before you get up, and ask the Holy Spirit to come close and speak to you, and to be your helper and guide, comforter and strength as Jesus promised. Let His oil permeate your being as you get out of bed!
<span style="color: #0c343d; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">2. End our day with the Word of God - not the news or social media - but God's Word. Read it out loud if you are not disturbing your husband or wife! Declare it together! Make sure your mind is soaked in the stong Word of God and then you will certainly sleep better! I have written some scriptures below about the peace God promises us in sleep.
<span style="color: #0c343d; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #0c343d; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Peter and I have a scripture we declare often in the morning:

<span class="text Nah-1-7" id="en-NKJV-22692" style="box-sizing: border-box; font-family: "helvetica neue" , "verdana" , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: 16px; position: relative;"><span class="crossreference" data-cr="#cen-NKJV-22692I" data-link="(I)" style="box-sizing: border-box; font-size: 0.625em; line-height: 22px; position: relative; top: 0px; vertical-align: top;">The Lord is good,
<span class="text Nah-1-7" style="box-sizing: border-box; font-family: "helvetica neue" , "verdana" , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: 16px; position: relative;">A stronghold in the day of trouble;
<span class="text Nah-1-7" style="box-sizing: border-box; font-family: "helvetica neue" , "verdana" , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: 16px; position: relative;">And He <span style="background-color: #d0e0e3; color: #45818e; font-family: "helvetica neue" , "verdana" , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">knows those who trust in Him.

<span style="background-color: #b6d7a8; color: #0c343d; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">In between, during the day, ensure we have quality time in the Word and in God's presence. Talk to Him and let Him talk to you. Still your heart before Him. Let the gentle whispers of His grace warm your heart. Let His Word continually cleanse us from fear and trepidation, whether that fear is about getting ill, or, more likely, about how we will continue to get provisions and live our daily lives.
<span style="background-color: #b6d7a8; color: #0c343d; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , sans-serif;">Peter is quoting here from Isaiah 40:6-8. This chapter has so many encouraging verses in it,<span style="font-family: "arial" , sans-serif;">beginning: “Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” and ending with those great <span style="font-family: "arial" , sans-serif;">promises of strength for all those who wait upon God.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , sans-serif;">With
the scare about the possible epidemic spread of the coroanvirus,
people here in UK are panic buying, to the extent that in some
places, there is not even any toilet paper left on the shelves. I
read today that some are going out and buying new freezers to then
fill them up! In all of this, where do we stand? If people empty the
shops, then shouldn’t we get in there quickly before it all goes!

<span style="font-family: "arial" , sans-serif;">NO
– Jesus tells us clearly in Mt 6:33 to seek FIRST the Kingdom of
Heaven – that means looking to our heavenly Father for each day. He
will show us what to do. If you have that gentle prompt in your
spirit to buy enough provisions to last in case of 2 weeks' quarantine, then go ahead. But otherwise
keep to your normal patterns. Father has promised to look after our
needs. The supermarkets are not our certainty, but Father God is! He
is our Provider and Protector, and here are some more scriptures to
meditate on today and let your heart be still before God.

He declared,

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> "As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD!" Joshua 24:15

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Whether we are facing troubles such as the corona virus, or simply life's daily trials, we constantly have a choice to make. We may choose the way of the world and so open the door to worry, fear and unbelief, or seek God and find Him in the situation however small or big, but it is a choice every time. The Holy Spirit does indeed guide and prompt us, but we need to make that choice to listen to God and follow and believe Him and His Word! A friend wrote sharing her recent experience with me yesterday and I asked her permission to print it here. This is a true testimony of choosing faith and trust when everything else is trying to steal away peace:

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">"Yes times are very troubling indeed in our broken world. This is the time
we truly do need to stand on the Word. Over the past three weeks J (her husband) has
been abroad twice. ......I
found the enemy handing me fear on a plate on a number of occasions associated
with the spread of this virus and my job was to choose trust! The Lord
challenged me over this period ... was I in faith or fear? Because I couldn’t be
in both! So I started to declare the goodness of God over us and every member
of our family and area of our lives. The Lord ministered to me reassuring me
that HE was not going anywhere and I could trust Him and his unfailing love and
provision as He was unchanging and faithful and our good good God! That I was
loved by Him!"

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Let us all follow this example - we may feel fear attacking us, we may feel weak or in a mess - but let's get into the secret place of God's presence through Jesus Christ and find Him and His answers. It takes time and determination, setting our wills to choose Jesus!

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">In Joshua 23, he tells the elders of Israel to "cling to the Lord your God!" Choose to cling to God, and to His Word and promises. Choose to follow Him on an hour to hour basis!

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

It is very easy to have fear about the possibiity of contracting the Coronavirus if it continues to spread. There is no way any of us wish to be affected by the virus, and yet we need to know how to continue fulfilling Father's plans for us day by day. We are not to be hidden away, but shining for Jesus. It is of utmost importance to learn to trust God as we go through dangerous times, but we also have to consider how to stay safe and receive God's wisdom in the way we go about our daily lives.
And remember there are still ordinary colds around!! We also need to ask Him what meetings to go to. I am convinced we need to continue having fellowship with one another. One friend in London had everyone who came to her home for a meeting, wash their hands as they came through the door. And they avoided kissing and hugging. We all need to hear God and then live our daily lives trusting Him, and remaining willing and open to anything He asks us to do. I KNOW then that our faithful God will keep us and protect us and our loved ones.
And you are My witnesses! Is there a God besides Me? There is no [other] Rock; I know not any. Isaiah 44:8 (Amp)
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">It is said that the Bible contains 365 "Fear Not"s - one for every day of the year, and I am positive there would be one more somewhere for a Leap Year! I have never counted them, so I cannot verify this fact, but I do know there are Fear Nots throughout the Bible. With a good concordance, you could do a search, and remember also to include "Do not be afraid" and "Be not anxious" - there are so many different varieties of fear!!
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I read the following scripture the other day in my daily readings and it spoke to me for all of us who love the Lord in these fear-filled times:
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="background-color: #cfe2f3; color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">" ... neither be in fear of what they fear, nor make others afraid and in dread. The Lord of hosts, regard Him as holy and honour His holy Name by regarding Him as your only hope of safety ....
<span style="background-color: #cfe2f3; color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">And He shall be a sanctuary, a sacred and indestructible refuge to those who reverently fear and trust in Him ....
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">And I will wait for the Lord .... Behold I and the children the Lord has given me are for signs and wonders. " Isaiah 8: 12-18 (parts, from the Amplified Bible)
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">What a wonderful word! There are two major keys here as to how we stay in that place of refuge which the Lord promises for us. Firstly we remain in worship and holy reverence of our Lord. The fear of the Lord is very very different from the fear and anxiety the world gives. Simply put, it means to be in that place of looking to HIM first, remembering His holiness, His power, His might, His love and amazing grace! Worshipping in the quiet place on our own, and also with the fellowship of the saints where God has put us. Whenever we look up and worship, other things come into perspective. We can glory in the faithfulness of our Father through Jesus, by the Holy Spirit!
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Secondly, we "wait for the Lord". Spend time in His presence, in His Word. Listen to Him and what He is saying in your situation. There will be comfort, encouragement, peace and joy, as well as hearing that still small voice in your heart with direction in your situation.
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">As we do both these things, I am pretty sure we will be those who go out and bring courage and hope to others in the name of Jesus Christ. And we will not be joining the throng who increase fear and dread, or speak negativity and doom!
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">AND then there is the promise of refuge and safety - a sanctuary! How wonderful! And to cap it all, we AND our children will be for signs and wonders! Truly in this evil world today, God wants us shining as His lights, His beacons of hope to the world - and as we honour Him, and spend time with Him, the promise is for us and for our children to be signs and wonders in the bleakness of this world.
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #3d85c6; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">Fear not, for you shall not be ashamed; neither be confounded <span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">and<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;"> depressed, for you shall not be put to shame....
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">For though the mountains should depart and the hills be shaken <span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">or<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;"> removed, yet my love <span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">and<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;"> kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace <span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">and<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;"> completeness be removed, says the Lord, Who has compassion on you. <span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">Isaiah 54:4, 10
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
Caro Qhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03946092817512051842noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3040091978234121728.post-46906174614333892532020-03-05T17:28:00.000+00:002020-03-05T17:30:06.345+00:00Riding the Wave<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed by the calamities in our world? I do. Not usually in fear for ourselves but in our concern and care for those suffering. And it is wonderful when, in a small way, we can help by supporting those Christian organisations who go into the devastation caused by natural disasters and bring practical help, provision, medical aid and rebuilding of communities.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">But sometimes, it just seems too much. When all of us have the threat of this corona virus hanging over us, and meeting those who are losing their means of a livelihood, then the reality hits - this is not someting far distant - this is you and me having to weather the storm. (Do scroll down and read the previous 2 posts, if you have come into this for the first time.)
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I read some time ago about Sir Francis Chichester, who sailed round the globe single-handed. When his small yacht was faced with a towering wave off the Cape of Good Hope, notoriously dangerous seas where 2 oceans meet, he looked at the wave threatening to overwhelm and eclipse his boat and drown him, and said, "We will go over!" And, indeed, his boat rose up on to the top of the mighty wave and then slid down the other side. He said that instead of this being a terror-filled experience, he was elated - it was exhilirating!
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I often think of this when facing a difficult situation. Those who enjoy surfing will know a similar experiece, riding on a wave. And then others dive through a wave! GOD WILL take us through these present difficult times. He, Who walked on water, will always be by our side. Put your hand in His and trust in Him - He is totally reliable!
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">One brave daffodil in my garden bloomed on February 7th! Since then it has experienced hailstorms, violent winds and torrential rain! But, apart from bending gently in the wind, it is still standing upright and smiling brightly, cheering me every time I look out of my window!

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">God has spoken to me through that small delicate flower. Although there may be storms and even hard hailstones falling, I can stand in God's grace ~ He will give me strength and peace. There is only one thing needed from me - to just lean into Him - ie: trust Him! To trust what He says in His Word.
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Look again at that verse from Hebrews which I shared yesterday:
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> "For God Himself has said .... therefore we may boldly say .... " !
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> When God says something, it is sure and certain. He is unchanging and totally to be relied upon. Therefore we can say it too, and as we speak God's Word out, faith grows. AND our roots go deeper into Him, so, that like that daffodil, we can stand during the trials, and even bring encouragement and blessing and hope to others.
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I keep a pile of file cards by my bed, all with verses I have written on them, and I read a few every night before I go to sleep. The ones I have collected over the years are all promises for strength, health and healing, and about God's love and care for me. These scriptures sink in deeper than mind level, and come part of my being, and it is amazing how trust and faith in the Lord grow and flourish. I am sure that many of you reading this, who have been in the Word for years, know what I am talking about.
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">This is definitely a time to reaffirm our trust in our loving faithful God, to tell Him we trust Him, to sink back into the arms of the only One Who will be able to keep us in these days.
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I took a neighbour to a garden Centre today, to shop and have lunch together. It was interesting to hear from someone who would not call herself a believer, talking about the fear of the corona virus and also the anxiety. Her daughter and son-in-law run a business which depends on imports from China. The factory in China is closed and they have not been able to find any similar outlet in this country. This is an anxious worrying time for those who have a living to earn. I was able to share with her a little about the peace Jesus gives and will print out some scriptures for her, but, without Christ, people are fearful and their only hope is that it might all go away!
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Yesterday was a global Day of Prayer, and we can truly believe that our heavenly Father will work. At the same time, we need to take every opportunity to get our own lives entrenched in the Word of God, and in His love and protection - but more on that tomorrow.
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Meanwhile be a daffodil where you are. Stand in the grace of Jesus. Bend gently in the wind of the Spirit, and bless your family, your friends and your neighbours, schoolfriends and colleagues.
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "verdana" , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">"He [God] <span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "verdana" , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "verdana" , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: 16px;"> <span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-family: "helvetica neue" , "verdana" , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">nor<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "verdana" , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: 16px;"> <span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "verdana" , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">give you up<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "verdana" , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: 16px;"> <span style="box-sizing: border-box; font-family: "helvetica neue" , "verdana" , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">nor<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "verdana" , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: 16px;"> <span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "verdana" , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: 16px;">leave you without support.

<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">We are living in the days before Christ's coming! I know that the early church could have said that too nearly 2000 years ago! But we are certainly closer to that Day now, and surely all the signs are pointing to His near coming and Jesus warned us to watch out for them and be READY to welcome Him coming in His glory.<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">One thing He said in this context was,<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">" ... you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that you are not troubled or afraid or terrified ... " Matthew 24:6 and Luke 21:8.
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> The New Living Translation translates it as "Don't panic!"
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Well, as I write this blog, there is fear all around the globe because of the spread of the Corona virus. There have also been other disasters over the last months ncluding catastrophic fires in Australia and California, and now terrible floods in English towns, destroying homes and businesses, and covering huge areas of farmland, preventing the planting of spring crops. So many reasons to naturally be afraid. And let's be honest - fear so easily creeps in when we hear the news, and do not know at this stage whether there will be a global pandemic or not.
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">BUT "DO NOT BE AFRAID!" is the constant echo throughout the Bible. I have been writing out scriptures today and will use some of them in a series over the next few days. But I do recommend to all who read this, to start your own search for verses from the Bible which tell of God's protection and keeping for His children.
<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: #073763; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">If you need assurance that you are His child, please click on the labels menu beside this blog on the title "Becoming a Christian". This article will tell you how to be sure that you are safe in Father's arms and accepted into His family through what Jesus Christ has done for you.

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I leave you today with the following verses from Hebrews to meditate on and take into your heart, and tomorrow will continue with more encouragement in this time of stress and often anxiety for ourselves and our families.
Psalm 36:7<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Some time ago, I was stirred up by hearing someone saying that because a colleague was ministering and doing the will of God, she was being attacked by the devil. Also, recently, I have heard more than once that extraordinary argument, saying, "I must be doing something right, because the enemy is attacking - with sickness, accidents, financial upheaval etc etc!" Where does it say that in the Bible? Does the Bible say anywhere that we will be under severe attack when we serve the Lord? No! My Bible tells me that, as a believer, I am hidden <span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> with Christ in God. (Col 3:3) What safer place could there be? The enemy has to get through both my Saviour and my Father to reach me!
<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">We have Psalm 91 and countless other references in the Old Testament alone to tell us that Almighty God is our strong tower and our refuge. He covers us with His feathers and keeps us safe from harm! Then in the New Testament, we are given all the armour in Ephesians 6 and told to stand strong in the battle, and that we are more than conquerors. Jesus commands us to ask that we may receive and our joy will be full!
<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Of course, there is an enemy against us! Peter describes him like a lion prowling around seeking whom he may devour, 1 Peter 5:8. (See also Psalm 17:9-12 ~ "My deadly enemies who surround me ... he is like a lion that is eager to tear ... Arise O Lord, confront Him and bring him low!")
<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Jesus is the Lion of Judah!
<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Now I can see that if a person is not watchful, because they get caught up in serving the Lord, then maybe satan will have an opportunity. But we have been given weapons of our warfare - we have been chosen to be victorious with Christ! We are overcomers - not because of what we do, but because of what HE has done on the cross. Once for all satan has been defeated. Read Colossians 2:8-15 and 2 Corinthians 10:3-7.
<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">The war has been won. There are still battles to fight, but the Lord protects His children. Stay close to Him. That is the safe place. Don't allow the fear of lies that you can be harmed when you step out in the will of God. God's will is the safest place you can be!
<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">You are the apple of God's eye and He keeps you SAFE!
<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Deuteronomy 32:10
<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">"He found him in a desert land and in the wasteland, a howling wilderness; he encircled him, He instructed him, he kept him as the apple of His eye.
<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">As an eagle stirs up its nest, Hovers over its young, spreading out its wings, taking them up, carrying them on its wings..."
<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Why don't you pray the words of Psalm 17:7-9 and Psalm 18:1-3.
<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Ps 17:7-9
<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand, O You who save those who trust in You from those who rise up against them.
<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Keep me as the apple of Your eye; hide me under the shadow of Your wings,
<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">From the wicked who oppress me, from my deadly enemies who surround me.

Ps 18:1-3
<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I will love You, O LORD, my strength.
<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.
<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="color: purple; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">You are saved, you are delivered because you have been translated into the Kingdom of His light through the death of Christ on the cross for you! You are precious and chosen and a child of God. Hallelujah! Praise Jesus today!
This is the first mention of asking for ourselves! "Give us ..." How often have the prayers of God's people been "Give us, Give us, Give us"? How often have we come with a shopping list of all the needs, or sent to prayer partners sharing only the sicknesses, the difficulties, the problems and heartaches? Of course, we need to share the burdens of others. We need to pray. BUT just think back on the first few phrases of the Lord's prayer - all about our Father God, His wonderful praiseworthy name and character, His wonderful will in Heaven to come to earth to set men and women free. How glorious!

I believe our intercession and prayer will be so powerful, if we ensure that we spend more time in praising our amazing God, and considering all that Jesus has done for us, and thanking Him for His gifts and blessings, and His incredible promises, than we do in the asking. Actually many problems get solved in worshiping Him, and healings will flow as we wait in His presence. Our lists will be a whole lot shorter!

However, Jesus does tell us to ask. Ask for our daily bread - for our material provision, our homes, our food, our clothes. We ask for today! In the same chapter as He teaches the disciples about praying, Jesus tells them not to worry:

Matt 6:31-34
"Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'
For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

When we ask in His name, and He answers, how our faith grows for the tomorrows that we don't know about yet. Cares, anxieties and worries will disappear. His faithfulness to us never never ends.

John 16:23-24
"Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.
Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full."

So, pray in faith, trusting your loving heavenly Father to provide all you need and all your family needs. Psalm 23:1 "The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall not lack!"
Find other verses and scriptures about God's joy in providing for His children!

Of course, this is not just about asking for our own needs - but for others also - this is the part in the Lord's prayer where we can pray for others we know in desperate situations, particularly in other parts of the world. Let us claim God's wonderful promises for those of His family suffering in so many places. Pray provision for the missionaries you personally know. Don't be overwhelmed trying to pray for the whole world, but ask the Holy Spirit to lead you specifically.

This is the second post on the above part of the Lord's prayer, so scroll down and read the other one first - indeed all the posts which are marked Prayer from the start, so that you can get the complete picture.

At our small house-group the other evening, a friend shared about the Garden of Gethsemane and how Jesus went through with that and all that followed, so that He could die on the Cross that terrible death and take our sin and pain and guilt. We are forever forgiven and cleansed and free when we have come to Jesus and received Him. As I thought again about this, I realised what Jesus said to His Father when He was praying in the garden. Have a look at these scriptures from the Gospel accounts:
Matt 26:39
He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will."
Matt 26:42
Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done."
Mark 14:36
And He said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will."
Luke 22:42
"Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done."

Jesus totally surrendered to His Father's will. Then, we know that on the Cross, He cried out,
"It is finished!"

Jesus has totally completed all the Father's will on earth. Because Jesus has done it all and our salvation is complete, absolutely everything we need to do God's will is accessible in Jesus Christ Himself. He has completed the Father's will. We only need to come to Him and find our all in all in Christ! All grace, all strength, all wisdom, His gift of righteousness, all healing, all peace and love is to be found in Jesus - in His FINISHED work. He is the completeness of all the will of God in Heaven, come to earth!
So, when we pray "Thy will be done ...", we pray with faith and confidence in Jesus Christ - it is not about our own ability or strength. He has won the victory at the Cross!
The rule of King Jesus in our lives, and in the world! What an amazing thing to pray. At this point in the Lord's prayer, having come into His presence with praise and worship and receiving the love of our Father, now we bow at Jesus' feet and ask Him to be Lord in our lives. In Romans 14:17, you will read that "the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit."
The Kingdom of God in our lives is about the fruit of the Holy Spirit growing in our lives, about Jesus' life in us.

Let's pray for the Kingdom of God, His rule of love and righteousness, to become more and more evident in our own lives and our families - from there to reach out with His love into our communities and world!

You may have a specific circumstance where you want to see things changed by the love and power of God. Speak "Thy Kingdom Come" into that lost life, or the child or person you love who is ill or suffering. Speak "Thy Kingdom come" into your own life where you may still be trying to overcome a habit or addiction. God will do it! As you speak, ask Jesus to be on the throne of your life.

Learn to be led by the Holy Spirit. Not long prayers, but heart prayer for His Kingdom of love and peace to come.

"Thy will be done in earth as it is in Heaven"
This part of the prayer follows on from the last phrase. As we ask for His Kingdom to be revealed and to come and transform us, then we need to ask for HIS will to be done in our lives. In Colossians 1, Paul prays a wonderful prayer for his readers, which now includes us! The first thing he asks is that they may be filled with the knowledge of God's will! As we come to this part of the Lord's prayer, this would be a good prayer to pray for ourselves, our family, our friends and our church fellowship.

Col 1:9-14
For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
that you may have a walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy;
giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.
He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

In Ephesians 5, we find 2 verses about knowing the will of God:
Eph 5:10
"... finding out what is acceptable to the Lord."
Eph 5:17
"Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is."

If Paul tells us to be not foolish but understand the will of God, then it is possible to know God's will. It is not something airy-fairy or mystically unreal. He has a plan for each of our lives and it is a good plan. Read Jeremiah 29:11-14.

One way to pray God's will is to pray His Word. Find promises and truths as you read your Bible. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you to specific words for you and those you pray for. Declare these promises and truths of God's salvation, healing, comfort, strength etc as you pray. Pray His Word into our lives.

Jesus said that His food was to do the will of His Father who sent Him. (John 4:34). Immediately after this He talks of the harvest ready to reap. His will is for many souls to be harvested and brought into His Kingdom.
John 6:38-40
"For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.
This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.
And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day."

God sent Jesus from Heaven to earth so that ANYONE who believes in Him should not die but have eternal life!(John 3:16) THIS is God's will! Eternal life, fullness of life.
John 10:10 - "He came that we might have life and have it more abundantly".
There may be tests and trials as we pray for His will to be done in our lives. There will certainly be changes in our pattern of living and lifestyles. BUT it is the way of eternal life and joy for us and for others! And remember, that just as we come to Jesus by faith, our walk with Him continues in simple faith and in the abundance of His grace. Only He can give us the grace and strength to walk in His will!

So, as we pray,
"Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth as it is in Heaven", we are praying for all that means in bringing many to salvation, healing of mind and body, fullness of life in Christ!

Practical helps: Write in your notebook any scripture you find about God's will and how He wants us to live. Look at Jesus life on earth to see how He portrays Heaven and God's will.

We have come into His presence, we have acknowledged our wonderful Father in Heaven, almighty God, with Jesus reigning at His side - and we, through the mercies of the living God, reigning with Him in Heavenly places! How can our heart not cry out in praise and worship and honour to the Lord?

Lift up our hearts, lift up our voice and our hands to love and praise God.
To worship Jesus.

Ps 100:4
"Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name."

Ps 34:1-3
"I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; the humble shall hear of it and be glad.
Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together."

The "name" of the Lord means His character, His personality, His whole being! We praise Him for Who He is, as well as for what He does. He never changes, He is always faithful and true to His Word. He is our Rock, our Fortress, our Deliverer. He is our Shepherd and Saviour! As we read our Bibles, we can jot down references to the Lord's name and character, and note the wonderful works of His hand. Spend time worshiping HIM in the Spirit. Read a praise psalm, or a hymn or chorus which expresses your heart to love Him. Let Jesus Himself lift you up as you praise and worship HIM!

As we come into God's presence and reverently worship His Name, He will give us revelation of His love and power, Of Who He IS - the great "I AM"! I just cannot think of a better way of beginning our prayer time - coming into Father's presence, letting Him love us, and then loving and worshiping Him - receiving insight and knowledge of God Himself, of Jesus and of the Holy Spirit.

"Holy Holy Holy!
Lord God Almighty!"

"Our Father in Heaven,
Holy is Your name!"

(Luke 11:1) These were Jewish men and women who would have learnt to pray from childhood. But they saw, as John's disciples had seen, that there was something different about their Master's prayer. He would take time to go aside with His Father, and would return full of the Holy Spirit, with power to heal the sick and calm the storm! His was no formal praying. They wanted to know more! Let's look for the keys He gives us as we follow His pattern given in
Luke 11:1-13 and Matthew 6:5-21.
"Our Father"
Come into Father's presence as His child. Be quiet in His love for you. Remember you have access into His throne room, not by any merit of your own, but because of the precious blood of Jesus, which has made you clean. So you can come and enjoy just being in His arms, protected, loved, warm, safe.

Heb 10:19
"Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus ..."

Jesus tells us in Matthew 6 to go into a quiet place to pray, to shut out other interference. So turn off the problems and worries that crowd your mind, as you just relax in your Father's love. In the first letter of John chapter 3, verse 1, we read how great a love our Father has lavished upon us as His sons and daughters. Sunbathe in that love as His chosen precious child before you continue into further prayer. Maybe also He will speak words of grace, comfort and love into your heart. Then, when you pray, it is from that position of being a loved, treasured daughter or son of Almighty God - your Father!

"Who art in Heaven"
Our Father Who is pouring His love into our hearts lives in HEAVEN! He is with us through His Holy Spirit on earth. As we come to Him, into HIS presence, He will help us see from His perspective. He will show us Heaven's view!

Ps 11:4
The LORD is in His holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven; ...
Jer 17:12
A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.

As we see God in His splendour and holiness and power, and remember that He has raised Jesus from the dead and Jesus is now seated "at His right hand in heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion ... and He (God) has put everything in subjection under His feet ...",(Eph 1:18-22), then oh how awesome it is to pray to this mighty all-powerful Lord and King! THEN, on top of that we learn in the next chapter of Ephesians that we too are " raised up with Him, and seated in heavenly places, in Christ Jesus." (Eph 2:4-7)

This is the place He shows us all the riches of His grace in kindness towards us in Christ Jesus! This is the place we come to learn about the inheritance that is ours in Christ.
We see who we are in Christ, the amazing truth of our righteousness in Him. This is the place where we can pray, outside of all the entanglements of earthly life and the turmoil of the world. Above satan's rule. Above all sin and pain and sorrow. It is real enough - but here we have the place of God's covenant promise and riches of grace!

Why not read Ephesians 1:18-23 and Eph 2:4-8.
Then pray the first line of Jesus' prayer again:

"Our Father, Who art in Heaven ...."

Practical helps: Why not have a prayer notebook. In it you can jot down scriptures as you find them. There are so many wonderful verses about the closeness of our Father and His tender care for us. If you are not sure you are a child of your Heavenly Father, then click on the post label called "Becoming a Christian" and read that and other posts on this blog. Jesus loves us and He died for us, so that as we believe and receive HIM, we will be redeemed from the power of sin and death and brought into the Kingdom of God and our Father's forgiveness, cleansing and love!
"Beloved, now we are children of God!" 1 John 3:2
This was a cry from her heart the same as the cry from the disciples when they said to Jesus, "Lord, teach us to pray ..." Luke 11:1. Maybe, like this friend, you do talk to Jesus, and to your Father in Heaven, but you don't recognise that is prayer. Perhaps your heartcry is to make your prayer time alive and real. I certainly need to increase my prayer life and understand more of what it means to spend time with God. Let's start out together with open hearts to learn from Him. The key is all about a growing relationship between us and the Lord. Just as a child has simple little words to start with and not even sentences, so we can come with our simple prayers - and He delights to hear us! But a child grows and learns, and so can we, and as we learn to pray, we will discover depths of love and trust in our heart for the Lord, who hears and answers!

On the next few posts, I will be sharing some great and exciting truths to be learnt from the pattern Jesus Himself gives us in His prayer, which you can read here in Luke 11, in answer to His disciples request. It is also found in Matthew 6:9-13.

Before we begin here is an outline about what personal prayer is - and what it is not!

What prayer is:

Talking to God and
listening to Him, learning to live in His presence. He loves us and wants
us to spend time with him. He longs for us to bring His Kingdom rule into our circumstances and families and communities.

What prayer is NOT:

Matt 6:5-8
Prayer is not a parade of fine words to be admired by others!
It is not for public display.
It is not a string of requests, or a shopping list of needs.
It is not using repetitive words.
It is not boring!

For those, who have kept on looking, please accept my apologies! I believe God has told me to come back here and continue where I left off, trusting Jesus will give me words to help build up and teach and encourage. I was watching a TV nature programme the other day, and learnt that the little honey-bee lives only 6 weeks from when it emerges from its cell in the honeycomb. During that 6 weeks, it has tasks in the hive and then finally goes out to forage nectar. In the average bee's lifetime, it makes just one teaspoonful of honey! It makes us very thankful as we dip into our jar of honey to all the little bees who made it for us! It has made me think that however small we may consider our work or ministry for Jesus and with Jesus, one small teaspoon of honey adds in with all the other teaspoons to make a LOT of delicious nutritious sweet honey! ALSO, of course, the bee is busy pollinating the fruit trees and crops and flowers as it collects the nectar, and it does not even realise! Praise God - just go for it today, loving Jesus, collecting His nectar, and He will use you in ways you haven't dreamed of!Caro Qhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03946092817512051842noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3040091978234121728.post-90848336580675907982012-10-22T13:15:00.000+01:002014-02-05T12:05:31.340+00:00Pour out your Heart
Ps 62:8
"Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah" (NKJ)
Our pastor has been telling us on Sundays how we need to pour out our heart to the Lord, as the 2 disciples did on the road to Emmaus. In my last post, I shared about a dream I had, and how we need to invite the Lord to speak to us, and to wait to hear what He says. And in days to come, I will be sharing more of my thoughts on how we actually hear His word to our hearts. Today, let's think about the verse above. Look how it begins: "TRUST in Him at ALL times!" This blog is all about trusting Him because He knows US! And as we read that story in Luke 24 about that conversation on the road to Emmaus, we see a couple of men disillusioned and disappointed - how can they trust without understanding? Jesus invited them to tell Him what was troubling them.

And He invites you and me today to tell Him what is troubling our hearts and minds. He longs for us to pour out our hearts to Him. When did you last go to Jesus privately and tell Him exactly what is on your heart? We go to others and often we complain that God is not answering us. But have we actually spoken to Him? And, as I shared on the Post just below this one, waited to hear Him?

A major part of trust is to tell God how we feel! On this link you can find a study with the acrostic of the word TRUST with very simple steps to learning to trust Him every day. And the first step is "Talk to Him"!

When we honestly tell Him what is on our hearts, then, through reading His Word, or hearing His Spirit in our hearts, Jesus will give us understanding. He will open our eyes to His truth. Situations may not immediately change, BUT He will turn our disappointment and frustrations to hope and peace in our lives. He will speak His word of understanding and comfort and healing to our hearts.

Come to Him today. Pour out your heart. Let Him hear you. He will answer!

Jer 33:3
'Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.' (NKJ)
Jer 29:11-12

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. (NKJ)

(And please look at the latest "Sunday Gem" on the link above).
Once He had been revealed to them, they said "Wow, no wonder our hearts were burning as He was speaking to us on the road!" (my literal interpretation!) Do we listen to Jesus, do we hear His Spirit within us, so that our hearts burn? So that we are warmed with His love, strengthened with His encouragement and wisdom and the revelation of Himself and the Father to us? So that we know we are connected with Him and know His presence with us?
How can we stay connected and know that joy of His presence? As our Pastor encouraged us, we need to find ways which help us stay in that place. There are so many ways we all know - but sometimes even reading our Bibles and prayer can seem distant and without any response within our hearts. Like the disciples we went there to find Him, but He was not there!
Some years ago, I had a dream, which I have recorded and want to share it with you here:

In the dream, I was standing with a group of people. One young man was looking at me and saying, "How can I make my quiet time with God more interesting, less boring and routine?" And I immediately answered him, "There are 3 things you can do to keep your time with the Lord exciting, vibrant, refreshing and meaningful." Then I spoke these three things, which seemed to come from the heart of the Lord.

1// ASK God to speak personally to me.
2// RECEIVE His Word and His love. Wait.
3// PRAISE Him.

I told the man that both in his prayer and his reading of the Word to do the above. It means time, it means stopping and waiting to listen. When we truly expect to meet with God and hear Him, we will. And if God is present, how can ever the time be boring??

That was the dream exactly as I wrote it down. And, since I have put this into practice, it is amazing what I have heard the Lord speak to my heart. Try it! When you are feeling weak, He may call you "Overcomer". He may tell you in words from Song of Solomon how beautiful you are and how He loves to hear your voice and see your face. He may give you instructions for your day - in which case he will also fill you with the grace and strength you need for it!

And then praise and thanksgiving and your heart love will flow back to HIM!
Our hearts WILL burn, as we hear His sweet and wonderful voice revealing His love to us.Caro Qhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03946092817512051842noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3040091978234121728.post-16086813202911746352012-06-22T13:03:00.000+01:002012-06-22T13:03:03.616+01:00God is Faithful

"...you asked God for help and He gave you the victory. GOD is always on the alert, constantly on the lookout for people who are totally committed to him." 2 Chronicles 16:9 (Mssge)
This story is about a prophet coming to King Asa and rebuking him for turning to men for help instead of to God, and pointing out how God had helped him in the past in an impossible situation.

Here is the same verse in the New King James:
"For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him."

How amazing is that? God is on the lookout for people for Whom He can be strong! And how strong is the Lord? He is the One who can roll back the sea or bring gushing water flowing from a rock in the desert! He is the One who has promised to feed and clothe us. He is the One who can heal the sick and raise the dead to life!

AND "He knows those Who trust in HIM" Nahum 1:7

When we put our trust in the Lord, He connects with us and His power is there for us. On Sunday, Ellie, an 18 year old girl in our church, was sharing how God had helped her in her music exam when she had to play several piano pieces - and then she said, "If you don't involve God, He can't help you!"

That short sentence there is so challenging, so true - Ellie was encouraging us to be diligent in prayer, in listening to God and paying attention to His Word. Over the next few posts, I am going to outline different important ways of putting our trust in Jesus, lining ourselves up to be in the way when He is looking for someone for whom He can be STRONG!
Caro Qhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03946092817512051842noreply@blogger.com0
